Friends of Kaira Konko received a warm welcome when they recently called in at Jabisa School. KK has previously donated food for the school after reports that children were going hungry, so the group were glad to learn that this is now being provided by the government. It looks like full bellies mean brains are better ready for learning, with exam results steadily improving.
The resourcefulness and skilled hands of supporters Ray Tucker and Mark Elliott mean the village well is now working again, and recent fundraising efforts by Richard and Trish Slator who were also visiting, means there will soon be IT training for teachers.
Work has begun on block making for a new wall around the women’s garden in the village, although we still need to raise another £1500 for this project. If you would like to make a donation to help finish the wall, please visit our fundraising page here.
