At the beginning of June, we received a request for a helping hand for single mother, Sheera. For the past two years she has been living with her children under a verandah in Soma, selling charcoal to get by. During this time she has been trying to build a house from mud blocks, but her efforts have been washed away by the rains. Some young people from her neighbourhood approached Lamin Kinteh to ask if Kaira Konko could help.

After a few weeks of hard work, and some kind donations from our supporters, the project is complete! Sheera and her family have just spent the first few nights of the rainy season in a safe and comfortable new home. Sheera is delighted and is very grateful to everyone involved for their kindness and generosity. We wish her and her family health, happiness and a brighter future, on behalf of everyone at KK.
