Kaira Konko had the pleasure of welcoming the British High Commissioner, David Belgrove OBE, during his recent visit to officially open the new gates to Soma community garden.

Situated at Soma Lower Basic School and tended by local mothers, this community garden project has been supported by friends of Kaira Konko for many years. Produce from the garden supplements school lunches, provides food for families, and is sold to generate income for classroom resources.

Commissioned by our patron Dame Mary Fagan, the new gates were designed to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
