In August 2023 Kaira Konko was made aware of a family in need of support.

When Kaira Konko Project Manager Lamin Kinteh first met the Jallow family, they hadn’t eaten for 2 days because they couldn’t afford to buy food. They slept on the floor without mattresses, their house was structurally unsafe, and their roof was leaking during the rains.

Lamin Kinteh was immediately able to provide the family with rice, and supplied new mattresses. Kaira Konko Scout Active Support then set out to raise the funds to build them a new house.

Ten months on, we are thrilled to share the news that the new Jallow family home is complete ahead of this year’s rainy season.
