Various visiting expeditions have carried out refurbishment projects at rural schools in the areas surrounding Soma. These rural schools are often poorly resourced, sometimes lacking basic amenities such as running water and electricity. Projects undertaken depend upon need and include provision of wells, building of a school kitchen and library, fencing of a kitchen garden and provision of school desks.
